You’ve always wanted to brew your own kombucha, you say? Now’s your chance, with this weekend’s kombucha-brewing workshop, plus a chance to watch the Oscars live in steampunk style with drinks, prizes, a DJ and costumes. All that and more this weekend in Toronto, February 26-28.

 

Black History Celebration

Cinema Kabuki at the TIFF Bell Lightbox

See little-known and worthwhile Japanese films at Cinema Kabuki, running Saturday and Sunday. Two showtimes per day for four films in total, including Lion Dance, Three Thieves Named Kichisa, Kumagai’s Camp and The Haunted Sword.

2016 Steampunk Oscar Party

Kombucha Brewing Workshop

Love kombucha but not the price tag at your local grocery store or market? Make your own! The workshop includes all the materials you’ll need to make your own kombucha and take home a starter kit to keep up the practice on your own, using a scoby starter kit.
