How to choose the perfect mattress for your Toronto apartment

How to choose the perfect mattress for your apartment

We spend around a third of our lives sleeping, so choosing a great bed is a super important idea that will have huge consequences for your health in the long run. We all want to be comfortable and satisfied with our sleep quality, so finding a bed that’s right for us is a high priority in today’s world. There are a lot of things to take into consideration when looking for a new bed, especially due to how expensive they tend to be, so let’s talk about a few:

Not too loud

A squeaky bed can be obnoxious not just for the neighbours around you, but for you too. If you have a bed that squeaks and makes a lot of noise even if you’re alone and trying to get some shut eye, it can keep you awake and decrease the quality of your sleep dramatically. Not only that, if you do invite someone to sleep next to you, a squeaking bed can keep them up just as much. Squeaky beds suck, so try to make sure beforehand that the bed you’re about to buy isn’t going to make much noise.

Not too soft

Soft mattresses are great – everyone loves feeling like they’re on a cloud, right? The problem with soft mattresses that you never hear about though is that for some people the support just isn’t there. You may have wide hips or broad shoulders or any type of body in between and your soft mattress may not jive with it at all. It’s important to test out a bunch of different sleeping arrangements and not to default to something you may think is comfy initially, but will cause problems down the line.

Not too big

Yeah, getting that king-sized bed in your apartment sounds like an awesome idea, right? You’ll have a huge, luxurious bed that you can sleep in as much as you want and you’ll feel amazing having so much space! The problem? What are you going to do when it’s time to move it? Imagine every time you need to clean under it or even clean the sheets – it’s going to be that much more difficult to do regular maintenance. Not only that, if you need to move apartments? That bed is going to be a huge pain!
