Try some of these 4 drool-worthy bakeries in TO!

It’s no secret that there are tons of bakeries in the GTA. There is absolutely no shortage of places to get that warm, morning loaf of bread, or a bagel on your lunch break. But which ones should you check out and which are worth your time? Here’s a few of our favourite bakeries that you’ll absolutely go nuts over when you try them yourself!

OMG Baked Goodness

Located at 1561 Dundas St. W, this great, high-energy bakery really makes you feel like you’re in great company and their cupcakes are absolutely superb. The location is very large, with more than enough space to have a little party with your friends, or even take their (eventual!) cooking classes to learn to make great desserts yourself. The owner “wants people to feel welcome, not intimidated, and I want them to see the food, grab it, and stuff it in their mouths.” Judging by the quality of all their pastries, cookies, cupcakes and more, this seems like a very easy thing to do!

Dough Bakeshop

Dough Bakeshop, at 173 Danforth Ave., has an almost singular focus – breads of all sorts, and pastries of all kinds. Their speciality is breads and things that need a good knead. The entire bakery is a comfortable location, with the warm furnishings and colours of the store bringing out the relaxing atmosphere and really unifying with the delicious fresh bread smell wafting into your nose. Their menu is fantastic, and their sourdough bread is arguably the best in town!

Pancho’s Bakery

It’s not every day you run into a Mexican bakery, but this spot located in the heart of little Italy at 658 College St. is Toronto’s jefe of churros, hands down. These delicious desserts are very reasonably priced and will satisfy not only your craving for sweets, but your craving for the best dessert you’ve wanted for a while! This novelty shop is the best place to bring someone who’s never sure what to do for dessert!

Nadege Patissere

What list of bakeries could be complete without a French pastry shop? Nadege Patisserie at 780 Queen St. W, is the best place for that decadent treat that you’ll wish you could eat every day. Too bad they contain calories. Owned and operated by a French couple, this beautifully laid-out bakery has anything you could want, from delicious, world-class desserts, to sandwiches that will satisfy your hunger and your taste buds. This one is an absolute hit and well worth your time!

Erin Cardone: Born on the Prairies, Erin Cardone grew up knowing there was more to life than canola fields and AAA Alberta Angus. So she escaped, living in Europe and Australia, white-knuckling it through plates of calf brains and raw horse meat, and learning languages she can't remember anymore. After a stint as a jaded, skeptical journalist, she changed tack and began writing rather awesome blogs and showing businesses that advertising is dead, so long live social media, with her businesses Legendary Social Media. She now splits her time between various Canadian cities, Costa Rica and wherever else the wind blows.
