One of the nicest and easiest-to-care-for ways to bring some life to your balcony is with a clean-looking hanging succulent garden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Not only are succulent gardens easy to make, they add instant colour to your outdoor space AND they\u2019re pretty hardy! So, if like me, you forget to water them for two weeks, they might actually survive.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The parts. You&#8217;ll need<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span class=\"Hyperlink0\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/ca\/en\/catalog\/products\/60193736\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: blue;\">Lack side table<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> \u2013 $15.99 <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">1 builder\u2019s tube, try <\/span><span class=\"Hyperlink0\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.homedepot.ca\/en\/home\/p.builders-tubes-8-ft-x-6-in.1000113380.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: blue;\">this one<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> from Home Depot \u2013 $7.00<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">A 2\u2019 x 2\u2019 piece of chicken wire<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">About 30\u201d of chain painted white, or replace the chain with leather or rope<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Garden plastic<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Saw<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Xacto knife<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Staples<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Wood glue<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Eye hooks to attach chain, leather or rope<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Succulents, moss and potting soil<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Do it.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Use the knife to cut through the laminate table top, and remove the centre portion, leaving a frame, essentially. Now peel away the cardboard hive that\u2019s left inside the table. Next, measure out sections from the table legs to make the interior sections of the succulent garden. The original blogger made a 6\u201d square in the centre, and attached that to the \u201cframe\u201d with four addition pieces of the legs, cut to size. Attach the pieces together using wood clue to form the holder, and let dry overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Cut out rings from the builders\u2019 tube so they fit inside the table, then line them with garden plastic. Cover with chicken wire. Now add the eye hooks and chain leather or rope for hanging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Now you can add soil and the succulents to your garden. Hook the roots or stems of the succulents through the garden wire so they\u2019re attached snugly and won\u2019t fall off.
