This weekend\u2019s main event: A massive mac and cheese festival that pits 40 cooks against each other to craft Toronto\u2019s most delectable mac and cheese. Seriously, the thing happens for 3 days, so plan on a massive diet\/gym binge afterwards to recover. Also happening: a city-wide civic engagement event to build stronger communities, the Riverdale Art Walk and a day-long festival that celebrates our city\u2019s awesome cultural diversity. Just a few of the amazing events happening this weekend in Toronto, June 3-5.<\/p>\n

Mac and Cheese Festival<\/h3>\n

A) Toronto has a mac and cheese festival and
\nB) it\u2019s happening all weekend. Don\u2019t eat at all today to save room for the cheese coma of a lifetime. On the docket: 75 food, drink and artisan vendors, 40 of them are some of TO\u2019s best mac and cheese creators; craft beer; food trucks; dairy farmers; live entertainment; Guinness World Record attempt at making 2,500 lbs of mac and cheese; and mac and cheese tasting.<\/p>\n

100 urban initiatives to promote civic engagement, all happening in one day, make up this Saturday event. It\u2019s all about encouraging Torontonians to get involved in our communities and our city to make TO a better place. 170 artists are getting together in a park this weekend for the 18th annual Riverdale Art Walk. Check out pieces by local photographers, painters and sculptors, plus fibre and encaustic artists, as well as others. There\u2019s a People\u2019s Choice Award, a guided art walk along Queen Street East and an eats and beats celebration.<\/p>\n
