Today\u2019s Ikea hack helps you add a little flavour to your living room by making a TV stand that\u2019s got clean lines and a homey feel both down pat. Plus, it\u2019s super easy to do.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The parts. You&#8217;ll need:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/ca\/en\/catalog\/products\/S29061408\/\" target=\"_blank\">Besta TV unit with drawers, white<\/a> <\/span>\u2013 $215.00<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">several sizes of <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/centurymill.com\/site\/domestic-hardwood-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">solid oak lumber<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">drill<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">wood glue<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">screws<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Do it.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Measure out the Besta unit and have the oak cut to size at your local lumber store. The original Ikea hack extends the oak down both sides of the unit and replaces the Ikea legs, so factor that in to your measurements if you plan to do the same. Get enough oak cut to cover the two sides and the entire top of the unit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Attach the oak to the sides of the unit by pre-drilling holes to line up with the four corners of the Besta unit, then drilling the oak into place.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Use wood glue to attach the third piece of oak to the top of the unit.
