Canada recently made it a top priority to re-establish and maintain the relationship we have with Mexico by lifting visa requirements on citizens from the warm and beautiful country. What does this mean for us? Here are some reasons that it\u2019ll be awesome to see more Mexicans and Mexican culture in Canada!<\/p>\n

Mexican food!<\/span><\/h3>\n

Of course it\u2019s the number one reason! Who doesn\u2019t love a great taco or burrito? Toronto is full of great Mexican restaurants like El Trompo<\/a> in Kensington Market<\/a> or La Carnita<\/a>, but having more is never a bad thing \u2013 especially if it\u2019s an authentically Mexican family making the cuisine. We should always look forward to new immigrants if only for the food they bring to our country! Maple syrup and Tim Hortons is great, but sometimes you really need a taco salad on the beach.<\/p>\n

A more diverse culture<\/span><\/h3>\n

Adding onto the already varied multiculturalism of Toronto would be fantastic, and being able to have legitimate cinco de mayo or day of the dead festivals on top of all the great and wonderful cultural exchanges that already happen in town would be a blast. Mexican culture is rich and unique and brining more of it to our wonderful city would only add to its beauty.<\/p>\n

More languages<\/span><\/h3>\n

While there is a Spanish-speaking contingent in Toronto, the demographics are clearly not in favour of the language \u2013 by adding more Mexican nationals to our atmosphere, we could start the growth of one of the sexiest romance languages to ever grace our continent! Who doesn\u2019t want to learn a great language like that and have an excuse to use it?<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll make us want to travel to Mexico more<\/span><\/h3>\n

Mexico is absolutely beautiful, cheap and, most importantly, warm! Even though it\u2019s summer right now, our winters are harsh and unforgiving \u2013 while in Mexico, temperatures in December to March can still average in the 20s, which is basically summer on the west coast of Canada! Freer borders between our countries mean you could conceivably live in Toronto during the summer months, and then take off to tropical Mexico during the winter months, eliminating that six-foot snow nightmare everyone hates.<\/p>\n

Countries getting together and maintaining their bonds of friendship means nothing but good news for the citizens of both nations, and in this case, it definitely has benefits for Canadians! Come on in Mexico, we\u2019ll show you a great time!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
