Old Chinatown<\/a> on Spadina is actually one of the largest Chinatowns in North America and, amazingly enough, just one of seven different Chinatown districts in the greater Toronto region. If you\u2019re looking for great ethnic food, great culture and great times, Old Chinatown is a great place to spend a casual afternoon or a night out. Not only that, there are a variety of events and cool things to do in the area! So without further ado, here are some reasons you should check out Chinatown!<\/p>\n

Asian Legend Restaurant<\/a><\/p>\n

Asian Legend has been around since 1988 and the quality of their meals is off the charts. Located at 418 Dundas W, this restaurant boasts a large variety of Chinese-food staples, like lemon chicken or sweet and sour pork, or things for a bit more extravagant, like their desserts \u2013 mango pudding or deep fried apples with hot toffee! The atmosphere is great, and this is one of those places where groups are preferred \u2013 so get some friends together and get some authentic Chinese food at this tried-and-tested location.<\/p>\n

The Kensington and Chinatown Scavenger Hunt<\/a><\/p>\n

Looking for something less food-oriented and more fun-oriented? The scavenger hunt, held by Urban Capers is a great way to learn more about the history of Chinatown, but also have a fun time and maybe meet new and interesting people. On top of that, great food is included in the ticket price, so you really can\u2019t go wrong!<\/p>\n

Grossman\u2019s Tavern<\/a><\/p>\n

Switching slightly from the Asian-theme, but no less located in the Chinatown area, Grossman\u2019s Tavern is the place to be in Toronto for live music, especially blues. With an almost daily lineup of great bands, you\u2019ll be hard pressed to find a better place to hang out when you\u2019re in the mood for some great music. The pub has traditional fare on the menu, like burgers and wings, but also serves things for the slightly more discerning client, like fried egg sandwiches or fresh popcorn. Not in the mood to drink? The Tavern also has a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, including cappuccinos and espressos for a relaxing evening in front of a great band.<\/p>\n
