Usually, I’m all for procrastinating. But there are a few instances throughout the year when procrastinating is a horrible idea, and those instances involve the biggest party events: New Year’s, music festivals and, for some of us, Halloween.<\/p>\n
I get it: Halloween sucks for several reasons. I won’t get into the whole trashy costume thing, but there’s also the fact that clubs and venues tend to jack up their drink and cover charges for night, just because. Annoyances aside, Halloween can be a great party if you’re a fellow fan of ridiculous costumes and fog machines.<\/p>\n
It’s the beginning of October. Fellow procrastinators, it’s time to sort out your 2015 Halloween party plans. And in the spirit of that sentiment (see what I did there?), here are our picks for the 6 best Halloween parties in Toronto for 2015. There are, of course, a zillion more parties than this, but venues procrastinate also, and not all parties and dates have been announced yet. Note:<\/span> All the parties listed here are adults only (19+)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This staple among Halloween parties in Toronto usually caters to the younger, rowdier crowd. The crawl starts at 8:00 pm and pops in to four venues around Toronto, with a bus taking you door to door in between. This year’s pub crawl hits Gracies first, followed by Croc Roc, Same and finally Burroughes. Tickets include cover charge, and best costumes get prizes.<\/p>\n Date: Saturday, October 31<\/p>\n Time: 8:00 pm<\/p>\n Location: Grace O’Malleys, 14 Duncan St.<\/p>\n Tickets: $20<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Every year, the Haunted Hotel Bash at the Sheraton in Mississauga sells out. Thousands of people pile in with extravagant costumes for hors d’oeuvres, top 40 music and prizes for top costumes.<\/p>\n Date: Saturday, October 31<\/p>\n Time: 10:00 pm<\/p>\n Location: Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, 6090 Dixie Rd.<\/p>\n Tickets: $30<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Craving a decade-by-decade, chronological experience of how EDM has evolved with the ages. Thank Goin’ Steady DJs, who’ve mastered the art. They put on an annual Chronologic Halloween Party that does just that. Problem is, it hasn’t officially been announced yet, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n Date, time, location and tickets not announced.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Somehow, a party on a boat is better than a party in a landlocked venue, hands down. Two levels of party indoors on the ship plus a heated outdoor patio, old-skool tunes, EDM, hip-hop, appies, prizes for best costumes and awesome decorations are just some of the reasons this party aboard an Empress 2000 Cruise Lines vessel sells out every year.<\/p>\n Date: Saturday, October 31<\/p>\n Time: 10:00 pm<\/p>\n Location: 242 Cherry St., Pier 35<\/p>\n Tickets: $50<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ghost Ship takes decked-out Halloweeners on a night cruise on Lake Ontario along downtown Toronto aboard the Empress of Canada Cruise Ship. The ship has three levels, gives out food for ticket holders, and sells out pretty much every year. Best costume on board gets a cash prize.<\/p>\n Date: Saturday, October 31<\/p>\n Time: 10:00 pm<\/p>\n Location: 11 Polson St.<\/p>\n Tickets: $50<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 4Korners, DJ Crunch, DJ Hennie V, Wristpect, DJ Mechon, Kris Toma, Illegal Alien and other DJ play at the Ontario Science Centre for the annual Monster’s Ball Halloween party. Taking over three spaces, Monster’s Ball claims to be the biggest Halloween party in the GTA and probably deserves the honour, with more than 3,000 people expected. Tickets pretty much always sell out.
