A typical plan covers this cost up to $1 million.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Additional Living Expense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0pays for a portion your living expenses should you need to vacate your unit due to repairs or other insured risks such as flood or fire.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Do I <a id=\"need\"><\/a>need Tenant Insurance?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If it isn\u2019t mandated in your lease, the decision of whether to get tenant insurance is up to you. However, take note that there are a few common misconceptions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c21b1b;\"><b>Misconception #1: Your Landlord\u2019s insurance has you covered.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your landlord\u2019s insurance will only protect the building itself and the landlord\u2019s own personal liability in case someone is injured on the property. However, if you take a quick look around your apartment you\u2019ll soon realize that all of the little things like clothes, kitchenware, and furniture all add up very quickly.
